The Kane Chronicles: Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan

Siblings Sadie and Carter lost their Mother at a young age, and after a serious court fight and The Spatula War, Sadie lives with her maternal grandparents in London while Carter travels the world with his Egyptologist father Dr. Julius Kane. And thus, due to this long separation, the two have been mere strangers.... Until the visit to the museum which results in a blast and destruction of an important Egyptian artifact, and the strange episode that follows. Their father disappears and now its up to them to save the world from destruction. They go on an find about their Royal ancestors, the Demon Days, their mother and their goal is to defeat the evil god Set before the end to save their father...

Fabulous! The next series of books by Rick Riordan is evolving around Egyptian mythology, clearly telling us he is the master of mytho-fiction. In the first book of the series, he slowly builds up the story. Apparently, it is the recording (I don't know anything about it yet) which he has written. Cleverly depicted scenes, interesting details of the gods and Egyptian history and the care and love between two separated brother and sister (awwwww!), makes it a really good book worth reading. :) Enjoy!
